Stipend
CCI does not provide any financial remuneration for unpaid interns.
Intern Responsibilities
Funding — Interns are responsible for procuring their own funding. CCI will notify funding bodies for successful applicants if the name(s) and complete mailing address(es) of the person(s) to be notified are provided. Successful foreign applicants will be asked to provide proof of financial self-sufficiency for the duration of their internship.
Security — Interns will be asked to provide official documentation verifying they do not have a criminal record.
Insurance — Interns are expected to arrange for their own travel, accident, and health insurances while at CCI and during transit. Foreign interns must arrange appropriate coverage prior to entering Canada or within five working days after arrival.
Work Permits/Visas — International interns are expected to arrange for their own visas and work permits. For information on procuring these documents, please visit the following site:
Application Cycle
Applications may be submitted at any time throughout the year, and receipt will be acknowledged within 3 weeks. However, CCI will evaluate the applications only twice each year, beginning May 15 and November 15. Applications received after these cut-off dates will be held until the next evaluation period.
To ensure that all candidates receive fair consideration, a multidisciplinary team of evaluators will review all applications. Decisions will be made within 8 weeks of the cut-off dates, at which time candidates will receive a written offer of acceptance or a notice of decline.
Application Procedure
The internship application form is available in the e-Services section of the CCI Web site, and can be filled out and submitted online.
Candidates who already have an e-Services account should login with their username and password. The application form can be accessed through the blue e-Services navigation bar at the top of the page by selecting New Request → Learning Opportunities → Internships. Note that the form does not have to be completed in one session; it can be saved as a draft at any time. The draft will be stored as a request in the candidate’s e-Services account, and can be accessed by selecting it from the list of requests found on the personal e-Services home page.
Candidates who do not already have an e-Services account can create one and then proceed as outlined above.
Application Requirements
When completing the application form, candidates will need to include:
In addition to the online application, candidates will need to forward an official transcript of their marks as well as letters of reference from two referees.
