Exhibit Transportation

The workshop is designed to assist registrars, preparators, and operations managers in museums, galleries, and historic sites in making cost-effective choices in the planning and management of fine art and artifact shipment. Following a format that includes discussion, case studies, demonstrations, and hands-on group exercises, it will examine and offer practical solutions to issues such as:

• the transport environment
• selecting a private-sector service provider and arranging logistics
• contracting (what is important and how to ensure that you get it)
• understanding packaging and crating
• insuring your shipments

There will be ample opportunity for participants to share information and expertise.

This workshop can accommodate a maximum of 20 participants.
